The final friendlies on European soil during the latest round of international fixtures took place on Wednesday evening. Four Nerazzurri players took to the pitch: Hakan Calhanoglu, Denzel Dumfries, Alexis Sanchez and Marcus Thuram.
Calhanoglu's Turkey were beaten 6-1 by Austria at the Ernst Happel Stadion in Vienna. The Nerazzurri midfielder, who captains his country, scored from the penalty spot to momentarily make it 1-1 during the first half. The 30-year-old remained on the pitch for 87 minutes before being substituted.
Meanwhile, Thuram and Pavard's France took on Sanchez's Chile at the Stade Velodrome in Marseille, where Les Bleus came from behind to secure a 3-2 victory over the South Americans. Thuram featured for seven minutes after entering the fray in the 83rd minute, while Pavard remained on the bench for Didier Deschamps' side. Alexis Sanchez was named in Ricardo Gareca's line-up and played 77 minutes before being replaced.
A Netherlands side containing Denzel Dumfries fell to defeat: after their resounding 4-0 win over Scotland in their last outing, the Oranje were beaten 2-1 by Germany in Frankfurt. Veerman's fourth-minute opener wasn't enough for the Dutch as Fullkrug ended up bagging a late winner. Dumfries was named as a starter by Ronald Koeman and played the entire match.
